Dwight Alexander Krzywonski (Alex), of Washington, DC, was born on July 5, 1991, and passed away on May 16, 2025. Alex is the son of Dwight Darrell Krzywonski and Cynthia Irene Cox Krzywonski, of Waco, Texas, and is also survived by his beloved dog Beethoven and cat Coconut.
Alex was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco, Texas. He attended Waco Montessori School and Vanguard College Preparatory School where he excelled in debate, earning statewide honors and competing at the national level. He went on to graduate from Baylor University with a degree in neuroscience.
Following graduation from Baylor, Alex taught students at St. John’s School for 3 years in Zhoushan, China. He then lived in New York City where he worked as a paralegal and found his interest in becoming a lawyer. In May of this year, Alex successfully completed his second year and was preparing to enter his final year of study toward his Juris Doctorate degree at George Washington University. As a law student at GWU, Alex found his vocational passion.
Alex was a caring family member, recently stating that he looked forward to marriage and children. Alex deeply loved his grandmother, Annie Faye Niswanger Cox, and his grandfather, Kenneth Alexander Cox, Senior (deceased). He spent countless weekends with them learning, developing skills, and attending church. In their presence, he knew absolute unconditional love. Alex shared a love of motorcycles, hiking, and camping with his uncle, Kenneth Alexander Cox, Jr., and was also close to Kenneth’s wife, Patricia Ann Cox, both of Cedar Hill, Texas. Alex held his grandmother, Margaret Lempar Krzywonski, his uncles, Elliot Krzywonski (deceased) and Sidney Krzywonski, his aunt, Geraldine Krzywonski Everett, and his cousins and their children in affection and high regard.
Alex was loved by his friends and returned their love and affection. Alex and his friend of four years, Carrie Stemke, shared many happy and unique experiences as they traveled, cooked together and enjoyed many common interests.
Alex was a 13-year member of the Boy Scouts of America, beginning as a Tiger Cub and continuing as a Scouting Volunteer after achieving Eagle Scout status. He especially loved trekking and camping. Alex looked up to his Scout Masters and other Scouting parents and was always grateful for their influence.
