Addie Ruth Elin

Addie Buckner Elin passed away peacefully at Lynridge Assisted Living on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

She was born to Thomas York and Vinney Peral York on February 23, 1929. She was married to Mount Buckner then divorced. She then married Freddy Elin. Addie worked for the Post Office for many years, becoming Post Master in Coolidge, Texas before retiring in October of 1992.

Addie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Freddy Elin; one son, Mount Buckner, Jr.; two daughters, Ruth Buckner and Margret Buckner Reese; as well as one brother and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Buckner (Waco); brother, A.W. York (Waco); three grandsons; eight great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Grace Temple Baptist Church, 3825 Bosque Blvd. Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 also at Grace Temple Baptist Church with family and friends meeting at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery following the service for the interment.
