Obituary for Vincent R. Salazar

Vincent Romero Salazar, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Visitation will be from 6 -8pm, with Rosary beginning at 7pm on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 27th at 10am., with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. All services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Waco, Texas. All Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines will be observed.

Vincent was born on October 7, 1936 in Mooreville, Texas, to parents, Carlos and Hilverta Salazar. Vincent married Monica Pena on June 7, 1957. He worked in janitorial services for the Seventh and James Baptist Church, Goldstein Miguel, Lake Air Mall, and then on his own for almost 70 years. He retired in 2018. He loved his family very much and did everything to support and care for them.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lydia; and brothers, Sam and Florentino.

He is survived by his wife, Monica Salazar; son, Vincent Salazar, Jr. and wife Rebecca; daughters, Natalie Salazar, Cynthia Slate, and Mary Ann Simpson and husband, Don. He is also survived by grandchildren, Stephanie Salazar, Vincent Jose Salazar, Monica Koehler and husband, John, Matthew Slate, and Krista Driskell. Vincent also has seven great grandchildren, who he spoiled and adored.
