Obituary for Thomas Rodney "Tommy" Appell

Born October 19, 1955 in Fort Worth, Tommy Rodney Appell’s home and heart were always in Waco. Tommy shared his heart with Debbie King Appell, his wife of 35 years. Together, they enjoyed hunting and fishing with all of their friends, many of whom knew Tommy from Crestview Elementary and Richfield High School where he graduated in 1974.

Tommy loved his wife, his country, and all the best parts of Texas in that order. Tommy died Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

Besides his wife, Tommy is survived by his father, James Melbourne Appell; sister, Ruth Bolt; niece, Julie Simon and husband Hal; aunt, Julie LeBlanc; brother-in-law, Gary King and wife, Karen; nephews, Dusty, Gary Allan, and Garrison King and his wife Kadey; sister-in-law, Carolyn Caton and husband John, and their children, Mark, Michael, and Tracy; and cousins, Julia Duffy, Susan Appell, and Carol Kehl and husband David; and his fur baby, Louie.

The family gives great and special thanks to Don Britain and for the loyal support from our many friends and family. We also appreciated the chemo nurses at McClinton Cancer Center and the nurses from the Fourth Floor of Baylor Scott & White Hospital of Waco.

Tommy will be remembered by many for his humor and intelligence. May he rest in peace.
