Obituary for Siham Zakhary

Siham Zakhary
April 16 1936- May 13th 2021

Siham Nashed Zakhary was born on April 16, 1936 in Cario Egypt, to Nashed and Galilo Sargious. She came into the world determined, unshakable and tenacious and refined those traits all of her life. As a young lady, she enjoyed playing tennis and visiting the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. It was on a beach in Alexandria that her beautiful eyes caught the attention of Dr. Amin Zakhary. They were married three weeks later and loved each other deeply and faithfully. Even after Amin went to the Lord, Silham remained his true love choosing to be a widow rather than replace the love of her life.

Siham was a strong woman of faith, and while Siham and Amin enjoyed a very good life in Egypt, the search for freedom to worship their Lord and Savior brought them to the United States in 1968. While this move allowed them to provide a better life for their children, it was hard on Siham who left her whole family behind.

Bilingual and highly intelligent, Siham bragged that she was the only member of her family to attend an Ivy League school, proudly attaining her Masters of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania. Siham served the community as a social worker for 55 years touching countless lives in the process.

Siham’s passion was travel and she devoted a lot of her time and energy in exploring the world around her. Her adventurous spirit took her all over the globe to enjoy time with her friends and family.

Siham was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Amin Zakhary.

Siham is survived by her three children, Yost Zakhary and wife Julie of Waco, Sylvia Lansing and husband Todd of Wylie and Sammy Zakhary and fiance Rania Sweis of Peoria AZ; her grandchildren Lauren Zakhary and Emily Zakhary, James Wise and wife Corinne, and Daniel Wise and wife Tara and her two great grandchildren Conrad and Kora Wise, and a future great grandson arriving this summer from James and Corinne.
