Obituary for Sean D. Mooney

Sean Darrell Mooney - beloved son, brother, and uncle - passed away unexpectedly at the age of 47 on January 22, 2021.

Sean was born in Waco on March 20, 1973. He was an exceptional cook, botanical hobbyist, attended classes to become a somalier, and had recently enrolled at TSTC to further his education in network management. He had a big personality - witty, intelligent, fantastic sense of humor - and an even bigger heart. He was caring, compassionate, and never afraid to express his love for his friends and family. He was very invested in the lives of his nieces and nephews and loved them as his own children. He was also a mentor to many young people in the LGBTQ community because he was a great listener and a loyal, supportive friend.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Louise Mooney of Lorena, Gilbert A. Guerra of Waco; brother, Brian Mooney and wife, Lisa Mooney, of Temple; sister, Melony Young and husband, Charlie Young, of Spring; sister, Teresa Pruitt of Temple; brother, Dossie Raines and wife, Maren Raines, of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He Was preceded in death by his mother, R. Reta Guerra of Waco; and brother, Charles Wayne Mooney of Waco.

Sean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Oakwood Cemetary at a later date.
