Obituary for Rosalio N. Chavez

Rosalio Navarro Chavez was born on September 4, 1934 in Asa, Texas to Ernesto and Amalia (Navarro) Chavez. Growing up he attended the schools in Asa and Downsville and at an early age began his vocation of farming. It was during this time his friends started calling him “Charlie” a nick name that stayed for a life time. Charlie was a loving son, devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and a sincere friend to all he knew. In the tradition of his family, Charlie was always willing to help others. He devoted his life to the care of his family. He was a true example of fatherhood and all it takes.

From working the land, he also worked at Davis’ Works, retiring from there, and returning to his love of farming. He enjoyed being on a tractor and cutting the grass, his lawn was always in top shape and the envy of the neighborhood. Charlie enjoyed Baylor football and was a true fan, during the bad times and the good times.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lupe Gallardo; brothers, Alejo N. Chavez, Severiano N. Chavez and Aristeo Chavez.

Charlie is survived by his loving family; sons, Ernest Chavez and wife Regina, and David Chavez; daughters; Christina Lopez and husband Danny and Sophia Garcia; grandchildren; Joseph Chavez and wife, Mariah, Adam Chavez, Anthony Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Gabriel Lopez, Sidney Lopez, Robert Prnka and wife Vivian, Jerry Prnka and wife Jessica and Nicholas Ordones; and 5 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Rosaura G. Chavez. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are; Joseph Chavez Adam Chavez, Manuel Chavez, Jimmy Chavez, Danny Lopez, and Arturo Alonzo.
