Obituary for Ron R. Vaughan Jr.

Ronald Rudolph Vaughan, Jr. was born November 18, 1958 in McGregor, Texas, to Geneva Snipes Vaughan and Ronald Rudolph Vaughan, Sr. of McGregor, Texas. Ron graduated from McGregor High School in 1977 and attended McLennan Community College and Baylor University. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1980 to 1981 and then began his career with CTWP which lasted more than 35 years.

Ron had friends from each phase of life who knew him for different skills and talents, but everyone would agree his wit and intellect were among his most revered. He knew something about everything, usually more than anyone else in the room. Throughout his life, Ron was interested in everything from science to cars to rock climbing. He was always curious and active and spent his free time learning about whatever hobby interested him at the time. He loved to share his newfound interests with family and enjoyed teaching his wife and children new things.

Friends and family especially enjoyed his love of cooking and grilling. He delighted in curating the perfect menu and meticulously preparing a meal complete with appetizers and cocktails to host friends and family for no reason at all. His food was always delicious, and meals at the Vaughan’s are memories cherished by all.

Ron passed away surrounded by family in the early morning of January 18, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kimberly Aleman Vaughan, of Riesel; children, Allison Walker and husband, Clint of San Antonio, Ronald Rudolph Vaughan, III of Austin, and Veronica Angelina Vaughan of Riesel; and granddaughters, Olivia and Evelyn Walker of San Antonio.

A Memorial Service will be held at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco, Texas, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at noon.
