Obituary for Rev. William (B.E.) Moore

Rev. William “B.E.” Moore, 86 of Waco, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at a local assisted living center. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m, Wednesday, May 5, at Oakcrest Funeral Home. Rev. Clay Strawn and Rev. Kerry Sharp will officiate the ceremony with Rev. Aaron Haveron assisting. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery led by Rev. Travis Wolfe. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, at Oakcrest Funeral Home.

B.E. Moore was born in Waco, Texas on September 13, 1934 to Earnest and Iona Moore. Shortly after attending LaVega High School, he met the love of his life, Betty L. Eddleman, and they were married on December 12, 1952. It was a love story that lasted 67 wonderful years. He showed his devotion and love to the Lord as he was an ordained minister with UPCI where he served as a pastor for 65 years. B.E. Moore was well respected and held the offices of Texas District UPC Board Presbyter for 20 years and Texas District UPC Youth Secretary.

B.E. Moore was a lover of all things country ranging from his cowboy boots and hats, his life-size western wagon in the yard, his 1994 Ford pickup truck better known as “Big Red,” and his large and diverse collection of guns and pistols. If you’ve ever been in his house, you also know he had a love for books. He rarely met a book that he didn’t like.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Moore; son, Timothy Moore; sisters, Robbie Sue Coe, Dorothy Moore; brothers, Ernest Moore, Jr., and Thomas Moore. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers are Jim Macy, Kyle Eubanks, Charlie Alves, Gary Don Eddleman, Jimmy Nelson, Dave Samuels, Cody Coe, Caden Coe, and Karson Coe. Honorary pallbearer Kameron Coe.
