Obituary for Rene Treviño, Sr.

Rene Treviño, Sr. a.k.a. “Honey” age 62 of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2022, in Waco, Texas.

Rene was born in Weslaco, Texas to Porfirio Treviño and Alicia Rodriguez on July 2, 1959. He went to school in Weslaco then later became a successful businessman owning his company Tomato King located in Houston, Texas for several years later residing in Waco, Texas in 1999.

He enjoyed sports, hunting, and BBQing for the family. Rene was a lovable man, who loved to joke around and have fun. He really enjoyed being around the family, playing games, singing, jamming out, and enjoying all his favorite foods.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Rodriguez; father, Porfirio Treviño, Sr.; brother, Pilo Treviño, Jr.; and sister, San Juanita Luera.

Rene is survived by his ex-wife, Irene Garza; daughters, Nicole Treviño, Erica Sandoval and Husband Joseph; son, Rene Treviño, Jr.; sister, Cristela Suarez and husband, Ruben Suarez, Sr.; grandchildren Alezay Treviño and Baby Javier, Alyssa Treviño and Carmelo Treviño.

Pallbearers are Rene Treviño, Jr., Carmelo Treviño, Antonio Galaviz, Mark Treviño, Ruben Suarez, Jr., and Erik John Ramirez.
