Obituary for Randy Schormann

Randy Schormann

Randy Schormann, 82, of China Spring, Tx., unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. A service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 26, at the Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco.

Randall Schormann was born October 1, 1939 in Olney, Illinois to Rufus and Ada Schormann.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and elder brother Duane.

He is survived by his wife Rita, younger brother Gary, son Daniel, daughter Lisa, Lisa’s husband Clayton, and their son Ethan.

Randy was raised and educated in central Illinois, taught biology at the community college level in southern Indiana, became an administrator, and moved to Texas in 1976. He started at Texas State Technical College as an Instructional Design specialist helping teachers learn to teach. He moved to McLennan Community College in 1981, retiring from there in 2007. He helped open the Keith Ace Hardware in China Spring in 2015, where he felt it was his privilege to help customers answer their project questions.

Randy was beloved by everyone who knew him. He was a gifted teacher, a cherished mentor, and a tireless and loyal friend. He loved his family more than any earthly thing, and he gave credit for every one of his life’s successes and blessings to his wife. After 60 years of marriage, Rita knows she won the husband lottery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
