Obituary for Michael Frank Tusa

Michael Frank Tusa, 62, of Elm Mott, TX, passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, Pepaw and friend.

Michael was born on September 1, 1959, in Arlington, TX. His parents Frank and Minnie (Clarice) Tusa were blessed to have him as their son. After Michael graduated from Reicher Catholic High School in 1977, he went on to join the United States Army for many years. Michael was proud to be a Sergeant in the Army and often shared stories and experiences from the time in which he served.

After his discharge from the Army, Michael returned home and worked at Central Texas Iron Works and General Tire. He later took over the family business, Tusa's Grocery Mart, kickstarting a long career in the business management field.

In 1983, Michael met Rebecca Lynn (Ferguson) while cruising Valley Mills Drive in his Z28. They married in 1984 and spent 38 wonderful years together.

In 2007, Michael retired due to his health and spent his time working in his garden, volunteering with his church and spending quality time with his granddaughters, whom he cherished.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and special nephew, Glenn Geurin.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca; children, Bradley Tusa, Sarah Rodriguez, Angelia Beals, Frank Tusa, Fred Tusa, and April Ray; granddaughters, Halley, Kaydence, Landry Beals, Brinley Witt and Kendalynn Rodriguez. He is also survived by numerous family, friends and brothers of the 1/124th Cav, 49th Armored Division.

Visitation will be held at Oakcrest Funeral Home Wednesday June 8, 2022, 6 pm, with rosary beginning at 7 pm. Funeral will be held Thursday June 9, 2022, 10 am at St. John The Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Knights of Columbus Council 1358, an organization Michael was active in and felt strongly about.
