Obituary for Maxine Louise Palmer

MAXINE LOUISE PALMER

Maxine Louise Palmer age 95, passed away on Thursday August 18, 2022. She was born on June 30, 1927 in Waco, TX. To Helen and Max Halve. Maxine graduated from Waco High and Four-C Business College. Her career included Air Force Clerk, VA Secretary, Office Manager for Dr. Robert Chapman, and Bookkeeper for Dr. Jill Michaels, DDS.

Her friendly outgoing demeanor and love for those around her defined her long life. Maxine was fiercely independent, loved to travel, and made many trips abroad with family and friends. She loved volunteering at the Waco Hippodrome Theatre. Maxine was a faithful member of First Methodist Church and volunteered with Sanctuary Care.

Preceding her in death are sister Betty Chambliss, daughter Marianne Stump-Porter, and grandnephew Brian Scheffler. Surviving her are sister Mary Chapman. sons Paul Palmer and David Palmer and his wife Cheryl. daughter Patricia Selinger. grandson Matthew Stump and great granddaughter Megan Stump. nieces Mellissa Chapman, Nancy Scheffler, her husband Harold and son Greg, Cathy Chapman and daughters Elizabeth and Rachael. nephew Joseph Chambliss, Jr.. cousin Julia Halve. She will be missed by her many friends but especially dear friends Deborah DuBois and Bridget Borselino. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all involved in Maxine’s care.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, 6-8pm at Oakcrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX 76710.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, 10am at Oakcrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX 76710.
