Obituary for Linda Paulette Bond

Linda Bond, age 77, of Waco, passed away peacefully in Cedar Park, TX on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 with her daughter by her side.

Linda was born on December 6, 1944, in Plainview, TX to Calvin and Willie Jane (Moore) Roberson. Linda was the only child born to both her parents, although she had several half siblings. Linda graduated from Lott High School in 1962 where she was a cheerleader. In the 1980’s, she worked as a merchandiser for M & M Mars. In 1985, she worked for the Baylor Bookstore and her last employment was as Head Deputy District Clerk for the McLennan County Child Support Office where she retired on October 31, 2005. Linda’s main priority was being a mom. She was devoted to raising her two children, Stephen and Tammy. Raising a son with special needs was a challenge she took on with a vengeance. She fought the school district over the years to ensure her son and other special needs children received the educational resources they needed and deserved. She was a mighty warrior. If she was not at Stephen’s school, you could often find her at Tammy’s school being a room mother at the elementary school and then being a Band Parent at the high school. She was known to many students as “Momma Bond” and she wore the title with such joy and pride. Linda was a fighter and protector of those she loved.

Linda was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Bond; her parents, Mr. and Ms. Calvin Roberson, her siblings, and the father of her children, Larry Bond.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Bond; nieces and nephews; and other extended relatives and special friends.

The family extends thanks to staff at memory care facilities the Enclave and Cedar Park and most recently Poet's Walk at Cedar Park and Encompass Home Health and Hospice.
