Obituary for Josefina Diaz Garcia
Josefina (Josie) Diaz Garcia, age 64, of Waco gained her wings on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. A chapel service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, July 11, 2022 at OakCrest.
Josie was born on October 3, 1957 in Blevins, TX to Zenobio Diaz and Leonore De Leon. She attended Waco schools. Josie was blessed with four girls and two boys. She worked for Waco ISD for 16 years and was a valued employee until she retired in 2021. Before her illness, she enjoyed family gatherings and having a good time. Her family and anyone else who knew her will say she was persistent and determined and wanted things her way!
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Esteban Diaz, Domingo Diaz, Francisco Diaz and Pete Diaz.
She is survived by her children; Alice Salazar and husband, Raymond, Salvador Jr. Garcia and wife, Jennifer, Crus Cervantez and husband, Joe, Connie Cervantez and husband, Artie, Donasiano Garcia and wife, Jeanette and Angie Nevarez and husband, Tony, all of Waco; three brothers, David Diaz, Jimmy Diaz and Manuel Diaz; two sisters, Mary Sandoval and Rosa Zuniga;25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
