Obituary for Johnny Vidal Hogan

Johnny Vidal Hogan, born June 19, 1974, passed away on April 15, 2022. Johnny is survived by his daughter Maelynn Billingsley of Pecos, TX, mother Shanda McQuade and husband Kieran of Waco, biological father Johnny Gonzales and wife Margaret of Woodway, aunt Kimmy Beaird and husband Cody of Waco, Uncle Perry Glenn and wife Gina of Dallas, sisters Heather Hogan King and husband Eric of Mart, Kristen McQuade and husband Jason of Riesel, lifelong friend and big brother Raymond Farrar, beloved cousins Jennifer Klidies (aka Sis), Zach Coleman, Cody Beaird, Joseph Glenn, Ty Red Elk, and Eli and Kase King, Godparents Vidal DeLeon and Opie Chapa, and numerous other family and friends.

Johnny is joined in heaven by his great-grand parents Odis and Edna Mae Smith, Grandmother Eyvonne Glenn, “Mom” Ethel Farrar, and grandparents Jimmie & Birdie Gonzales.

A lover of fast vehicles and motorcycles, Johnny spent a lot of his time in the garage working on his Dodge pickup truck, his Harley Davidson bikes, and his Peterbilt semitruck. As a semitruck driver and owner of Maelynn’s Transportation he enjoyed spending his days over the road. His favorite trips were those when his daughter rode with him. Johnny was a friend to so many and a defender of those he loved. He believed in an open-door policy and would lend a hand to anyone in need. In the words of those who knew him, he was always a phone call away.

Celebration of life will be held Saturday May 14, 2022, from 2-4 pm at Geneva Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maelynn Billingsley Fund at Extraco Banks. “Those we love don’t go away; they ride beside us every day.”
