Obituary for James Wilson "Jim" Donaho

James “Jim” Wilson Donaho
February 3, 1947 - July 27, 2022

Jim Donaho, 75 of Coolidge, formally of Austin, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2022 at his home. Services with military honors will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Armour Cemetery in Coolidge, Texas (275 CR 186, Coolidge, Texas 76635, see Map below.).

Jim was born on February 3, 1947 to Clifford Weaver Donaho and Frankye Lusk-Donaho in Austin, Texas. He graduated from McCallum High School in 1965. Jim served the Lord and fought for his Country. He enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam from May 1967 to May 1971. He worked for the Austin State Hospital from 1974 to 1996 as a Dental Technician.

He enjoyed going to gun shows, local auctions, and scrap metal yards to find hidden treasures that he’d either collect, or work on to restore like new. He also enjoyed listening to music, from his early days of reel to reel and LP’s, to his tireless efforts of adding digital music to his iPod. For anyone who knew Jim, he never met a stranger and would spend countless hours holding a conversation no matter the topic.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Weaver Donaho and mother, Frankye Lusk-Donaho.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Lorene Donaho, son, Brian and wife Rachel Donaho, daughter Joy and husband Jeremy Ridings. Grandchildren, Rylie Walton, Harper Ridings, Destanie and Darren Franco, Constance Emerson, and Micah Emerson. Great grandchildren, Logan and Ryland Franco.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mexia Fire and Rescue and would like to thank the Team at Genesis Disability Care Provider, Inc. for all their love and support to the family during this difficult time.

Jim will truly be missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
