James Richard Shelton, Jr.,

James, age 64 of Waco, TX, was the oldest child born to James Shelton, Sr and Reby Johnson (Shelton). James graduated from Waco High School in 1976 and received an Associate of Arts degree from McLennan Community College in 2020.
Military Service: James’ military career began in 1977 when he joined the US Army National Guard. He later joined the Air Force in 1978, staying for the next five years. Finally, James joined the US Army Reserves, where he retired after 20 years of combined honorable military service. Civilian Career: James worked for Hillcrest Hospital and retired in 2019 from the Veterans Hospital, both located in Waco, Texas. His parents and a brother preceded James’ death.
James leaves the following people to celebrate his life. Two siblings: Reva Shelton-Scott (Kerry Scott) – children: Courtney Tucker, Acacia Scott, and Tiara Scott; Jacqueline Shelton-Evans (Richard Evans) – children: Rickey Evans, DeMarcus Moffatte, Terrance Moffatte, and TeNiqua Moffatte. Aunts: Mable Brown and Virginia Heslip. Several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and two BESTEST friends: David Harris and Vernon Ratliff.
Anyone who knew James - knew he was a gentle giant who bothered no one. He spent most of his time collecting coins, books, and gadgets. James will be missed by all.
