Irene was born to Epifanio and Julia Gonzales on January 9, 1966 in Taylor, Texas.

She married Jesse Tovar on November 17, 1987 and renewed their vows on February 14, 2004. She worked from home, so she was able to be with and take care of her grandson Ace ‘My Darling.’

She had such a beautiful soul with so much volume and substance, filled with love, joy, and happiness. She carried her heart on her sleeve and shared every ounce of it with everyone she met. Her smile would bring waves of joy to everyone and her hugs gave you warmth and peace. She always cared, and worried about everyone else, what they were facing, or doing whatever she could to bring them comfort and happiness. She was a mother to all and treated everyone equally as if they were reason and optimism, there was always a brighter side no matter how dark things were. The strong faith she carried was radiant and she expressed that every day of her life. I’m honored to be her son and beyond grateful to call her MOM, she is and will forever be my backbone, the strongest woman I know. I love you Mom. Adam

My mom was my best friend and my light at the end of a dark hall. She was there every time we needed her, and she knew every answer. We did everything together and I am beyond blessed to have had her for 19 years of my life. I will miss her everyday, but I know she was just too good for this world. I love you momma. Mia

Irene loved playing soccer, running, and taking care of her family. She would brighten up the room and make everyone smile when she entered.
