Gwen Evelyn Hays Mills, 89, of Waco passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2021. Gwen was born in 1932 in Marlin, Texas. Although she called Central Texas her home she enjoyed living in many different regions of the United States, making many friends along the way. Her life was filled with joy, her children, and her work family. Real estate was her passion and she helped families for nearly 30 years realize their dreams of home ownership. Gwen was all about fun, laughter, generosity, and service to others. She was such an adventuresome sort, enjoying a good tennis match, piloting a plane, riding motorcycles, and was a prankster at heart. She was an awesome mother and cherished deeply by her children, always offering sage advice with her calming demeanor. She was easy going and would often say “don’t sweat the small stuff, everything's the small stuff”.

Gwen is survived by her children, April Stone, Kelly Mills, and Reecie Long; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Gwen would love it if donations were made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org.

Burial services for Gwen will be private, but Gwen’s wish was to have a festive celebration of her life. Friends are invited to stop by her home on Thursday, May 27 at 5:30pm for Happy Hour.
