Obituary for Gene McFarlin
Mahlon Eugene McFarlin, Sr., 65, of Robinson, Tx., passed away suddenly on Monday, April 5, 2021.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton with Dr. Jim Moshinskie officiating. The family will have a 1 p.m. visitation at the cemetery for those who wish to come early.
Gene was born December 25, 1955 to Bill and Marjorie McFarlin in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Years later they moved to Hamilton where Gene graduated from high school in 1974. He met Denise Salyers in 1975 and they married in 1977.
Gene went to the Dallas mortuary school and spent the rest of his career as a well-respected Funeral Director and Embalmer in Rising Star, Stephenville, and Waco where he worked faithfully for OakCrest Funeral Home for many years before retiring.
Gene was preceded in death by his daughter, Meagan McFarlin; parents; step-parents; a brother and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; son, Mahlon McFarlin Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon Amos, Jacob Egger, Adriana McFarlin, and Kynnedi McFarlin; brothers, Robert and Mike McFarlin; sister, Phyllis Seider; and his nieces and nephews.
