Obituary for Eugene Shores

Eugene Shores was born December 14, 1960, to Bertha Jean Shores-Lewis and Golden Lewis in Temple, TX. Eugene was the 3rd oldest child of eight boys and affectionately known as "Beanie." Anyone that knew him knew his Love for sports. He was a die-hard fan of Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners.

Growing up in a busy home was not always ideal but Eugene cherished those moments. He loved the memories and relationships he created with his brothers and parents. He was known for his sense of style, humorous personality, and ability to advise. He had a love for cars, especially keeping them clean. This was something he learned living and working with his father. He was also very clever and used humor to get out of trouble something his mother always mentioned. His Mother made it a point to instill a Love for God into her children. This was something Eugene never forgot and carried forward to his own family.

He graduated from Temple High School in 1978. He then began attending TSTI in Waco, TX where he received a degree in printing. In 1984 he began serving in the national guard.

During his time at TSTI he met his wife, Bridgett Anderson. They married March 23, 1990, in Waco, TX. The two of them grew into adulthood together and formed their own special bond. They had two beautiful children a son, TyDean Shores and a daughter, Tyson Shores. His love for his children showed in him coaching little league baseball teams, attending events, and being present in many aspects of their lives. Their family grew to include 5 grandchildren that were his world. They were the joy of his life and gave him a run for his money. It made his heart happy to constantly hear them say "Gene" and snuggle up for naps together.

Eugene had a reputation as a loving and entertaining individual. He offered a listening ear and advice when he could. He was never shy to offer playful banter when needed. His love for his uncle and Aunts was like no other. He constantly said he felt as though he had multiple moms and dads. He was Uncle Eugene to many nieces and nephews that he loved as his own. They all have many silly stories to tell about Uncle Eugene. He spoke highly of his sisters-in-law and truly saw them as sisters of his own. Eugene had many stories to tell about growing up with his cousins. He loved each one of them deeply. He felt they were more like siblings.

Eugene cherished every friendship he had. He always randomly mentioned current and past friends. He recognized how each relationship added value to his life. He worked at Waco Printing for many years and formed lasting friendships filled with joy and laughter. A friendship he began while at TSTI with Darrell Scott became a brotherhood. The two have many memories together and have supported one another through many life events.

Eugene departed this life January 5th, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Golden Lewis and Bertha Jean Shores-Lewis; and brothers, Golden Ray Shores, Randy Shores, Ronnie Shores, and Gary Shores.
