Obituary for Ernest Galindo

Ernesto (Ernest) Galindo, 75, of Waco, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 30, 2021. Visitation will be Sunday, January 16 from 6 to 8pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7pm at OakCrest Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 17 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Ernest was born on February 27, 1946, in Hondo, Texas to Quintin and Josefa Garza Galindo. He met, Paula Lopez Galindo, the love of his life, at Cupp’s Drive Inn in Waco. Together they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He was a carpenter, painter, and truck driver. He retired in 2016 from Evans Enterprises Inc. and cherished the friendships made with his coworkers. Ernest enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Western movies, and listening to Mariachi and Tejano music. He started many Galindo family traditions and everyone was always welcome to join in on a celebration.

Ernest was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a Cursillo De Colores and a Knights of Columbus member. He humbly served his community by generously giving of his time and talents to countless projects throughout his lifetime.

Left to cherish the memories and continue the traditions are his wife of 51 years, his children Teresa Chavez and husband Manuel, Gina Galindo and fiancé Charlie Rodriguez, Marcia Beverly and husband Willie Sr., Felicia Lampe and husband Craig, and Ernest Galindo and wife Erica; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers are Orlando Beverly, Matthew Galindo, Adrian Lampe, Bobby Rodriguez, Armando Galindo, and Marcelino Martinez Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Beverly Jr., Babe Torres III, and Ethen Galindo.
