Obituary for Epifanio Tristan Jr.

Epifanio Tristan Jr. passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Waco, Texas.
Epifanio was born on April 24, 1943, to Epifanio Tristan and Epifania “Sally” Espinoza Martinez in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 10 at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church, with Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

He attended University High School and received his diploma through the United States Armed Forces Institute. He served in the Army and then transferred to the National Guard; military qualifications, US Rifle Cal .30 MI, Marksman 20 Mar 61. After he was discharged from the military he worked for Dr. Pepper, 7 UP, Borden Wise Potato Chip, and P.A.M. Transportation before retiring to become the best Grandfather you could wish for.

Epifanio loved watching football/baseball/softball, soccer games, playing pool, camping, and fishing; he especially was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys & Baylor Bears. He enjoyed being the best fan of all his grandchildren, always being there for their school and sports events; He always enjoyed family gatherings and conversations.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Tristan; father, Epifanio Tristan Sr., mother, Epifania “Sally” Espinoza Martinez, Octavio Martinez, who loved him as his own son, brother, Albert (Birdie) Martinez; grandson, Anthony Paul Tristan.

He is survived by his wife Alice O. Tristan; son, AP Tristan; daughters, Teresa Tristan, and Kristine Torres, and husband Mark; grandchildren, Erika Tristan-Rogers and husband Amos, Falicia Benitez, and husband Vincente, Tiffany Owens and husband Charlie, Ashley Pitts and husband Seth McGurgan, Guy Cremonese, Ronald Tristan, and Tristan A. Torres; great-grandchildren, Chris Garcia, Christi Anna Hernandez, Ryleigh Ramirez, Jonathan Ramirez, Xavier Benitez, Isaiah Benitez, Easton Benitez, Chase Owens, Tyler Owens, Nicholas Owens, Mattison Sotello, Malorie Sotello, Adyson McGurgan and Krystalynn Cremonese; great-great grandchild, Londyn Cooper.

Pallbearers will be, Guy Cremonese, Chris Garcia, Ronald Tristan, Mark Torres, Xavier Benitez, and Gerald “Jerry” Zumuehl.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Master, Tristan A. Torres, and Vincente Benitez.
