Obituary for Ella Mae Neal

Ella Mae Neal age 85, passed in peace on April 12, 2022, at her home after an extended illness. Ella was born on April 22, 1936, in Bremond, Texas to Ennis Steele and Sirloma Johnson Steele. She was lovingly referred to as” Wooty” by her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 5p.m.-7p.m. and a short viewing on Saturday, April 23, 8:00 a.m.- 9:45 a.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23 at Oakwood Cemetery (Section P). Bro. Dannie Archie will officiate.

Ella accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Church of Christ at Park Lake Drive until she departed this life on April 12, 2022. She attended schools in the Bremond Independent School District. Ella was a faithful employee for the Jewish community 50+ years until she retired. On April 8, 1954, Arthur Lee married Ella Mae Steele, and they shared many wonderful years together enjoying life. To this union three children were born, Debra Kay, Arthur Lee Jr., and Diana Faye.

Ella Mae is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Edmaire Corona, Jessie Steele, Justice Steele, Paul Steele, Ennis Steele, and Roosevelt Steele.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur Lee Neal Sr., children; Debra (Jessie) Hobbs, Diana Neal (Gary Jones), daughter in law; Jacquelin Thompson-Neal (Arthur deceased), grandchildren; Shannon Lockett, Brandi Neal, Renee Neal, Brandon Hobbs Garron Jones and siblings Dorothy Nedd, Emma Harper, and Alton Steele as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and devoted neighbor Lewis Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Jones, Garron Jones, Randy Harper, Jeremy Steele, Steve Montgomery, and Lewis Montgomery.
