Obituary for Domingo P. Castro

In Loving Memory
Domingo P. Castro
September 03, 1944-July 22, 2019

Domingo Castro, 74, of Waco, took his last breath and entered the gateways of Heaven on July 22, 2019 at Providence: St. Catherine’s Center, surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be Friday July 26, 2019 from 6p.m.-8p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 3p.m.-5p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Edmund L. Castro officiating.

Domingo was born to Edmundo Castro and Alvina Perales on Sept. 03, 1944 in Beeville, TX. At the age of 24, he joined the army and served as a lieutenant in the Vietnam War. During his service, he was injured and sent home with two Bronze Service Stars, a Commendation Medal, and a Combat Infantryman Badge. After returning home to Waco, he worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) until his retirement. He then worked as a Master Mechanic, using his own southern ingenuity, to fix anything that was broken.

Domingo was a city man but loved the country life! He was always fishing on any back road pond, doing yard work, relaxing in the shade, and enjoying any activity in the great outdoors.

He was an amazing, fun, and loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend to many. His care for others and bright smile will always be something we will remember him by.
Domingo was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers: Bartolo “Paul”, Emilio, and Sister: Guadalupe “Lupita” Castro.

Survivors include his beloved Sons: Domingo Castro Jr., Edmund L. Castro, Paul Castro, Daughters: Laura J. Castro-Wyllie, Christy Sanchez, Angel Urbina, Nacole Laws, Jenna Rodriguez-Castro, Brothers: Ramiro, Nazario, Sister: Amelia “Mabel”, 22 Grandchildren, and 19 Great-Grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Catherine’s Hospice for providing excellent care during such a difficult time and making his last days as comfortable as possible.
