Obituary for David Evans

James David Evans
Feb. 21, 1965 – January 11, 2021

David Evans found the peace he so sought on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 55, and now is with his Heavenly Father who received David with open arms.

His family will honor David with a come and go visitation Sunday, Jan. 17, from 2 – 4 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco. Please practice social distancing and wear facial covering.

David was born in Lufkin to loving parents, James Edward and Margaret Elizabeth (Crabtree) Evans. After moving to Waco where he received an Associate’s Degree, David served as a former law enforcement officer and cemetery director.

David was welcomed into Heaven by his infant son, Bryan Evans; sister, Denise LeFever; father, James Evans; grandparents, Rev. L.E. and Gladys Crabtree and Palmer and Hattie Evans; and uncle, Charles Evans.

David leaves his son, Brent Evans; mother, Margaret Evans; aunts, Karen Hulsey, Carolyn Brown, Mavis Evans, and Jean Doss; niece, Shelby LeFever; nephew, Nathan LeFever; and cousins, Brandon Hulsey, Bradley Hulsey, Allie and Haylee LeFever, among many others.

A family graveside will be held later at Oakwood Cemetery next to his family. Rev. Jeff Stinson will officiate, and Gary Freeman, Ricky Armstrong, Jarrod Richard and John Alovio will serve as honorary pallbearers.
