Obituary for Catherine Fisher

Catherine Mary Moore Fisher, 99, beloved Mama, Mema, and Great-Mema died on Monday night, March 13, 2023, at a local care facility.
Catherine was born on April 25, 1923, in Omaha, Nebraska to Joseph and Josephine Moore. She entered the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve in March 1944 and was honorably discharged in January 1946. While stationed in San Francisco, California she met Marine James W. Fisher. They married in December 1945. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska for less than one year and moved to her husband’s hometown of Waco, Texas.
Catherine worked several years at Central Freight Lines and 25 years at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital.
She is Preceded in death by her parents; her husband James W. Fisher in 1996 after 50 years of marriage; sisters Louise Moore and Jeanette Moore.
Catherine is survived by two daughters, Linda Armitage (Joel Finch), and Debbie Madigan (Quentin); Granddaughter Sarah Fudge (Brent); great-grandchildren, Lillian, Rosalie, Marshal, and Desmond; brother Joseph P. Moore of Colorado.
The family would like to thank the staff of Coral Rehab of Waco (previously Quality Care) for the wonderful love and care given to Catherine during her 15 years there and yes, she was always very “feisty” and loved her sweets. We would also like to thank Interim Hospice for their care of Catherine during the past year.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Waco Memorial Park, with Father Joseph Geleney officiating.
