Bruce M. Neatherlin Jr
August 8th, 1930 - July 9th, 2022


Born in Houston, Bruce's family moved to San Antonio in the early 30’s. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1947 as a weapons instructor at Lackland Air Force Base where he met and married Dorothy Humber Neatherlin in 1953 and was blessed with a daughter Jacquelin Sue in 1955 and son Curtis Lee in 1958.

After his Air Force service, he worked for Sears Roebuck as a credit manager in Oklahoma but had an opportunity to begin a career with LL Sam’s and Sons here in Waco as a salesman and eventually retired 38 years later as Vice President for the company.

As a 60 year member & Deacon at Lake Shore Baptist Church he fulfilled his need to help his church and the community as a Christian. He was very passionate about his work with The Freeman Center/Cenikor, Rotary Club & Meals on Wheels. He was a talented writer and was a guest columnist for the Waco Tribune for years.
Bruce was full of life and loved the Lord and his family. He never met a stranger and always had a story or joke to tell. He was an avid sports fan and LOVED his Baylor Bears. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna; daughter, Jacquelin; and son, Curtis.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 69 Years, Dorothy; granddaughter, Alicia and her husband, George Freibott; grandson, Matthew; and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
