Betty Loyce Landingham
October 30, 1929 - December 19, 2022


Betty Loyce (Watson) Landingham, age 93, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully December 14, 2022. Visitation will be for Monday, December 19, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.

Betty was born October 30, 1929 in Waco, to Clifford and Abbie Westmoreland Watson. She was a devoted Bible student and her life was guided by her faith. Betty attended Waco public schools. She met her beloved husband, Louis Landingham, when he was enlisted in the United States Army, 2nd Army Division at Camp Hood, Texas. They were wed September 6, 1952 and were blessed with 64 happy years together.

Betty was a talented oil painter of landscapes and her paintings were sold throughout the U.S. She taught oil painting for many years. Betty enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and reading. She enjoyed working alongside her father, Clifford, doing carpentry projects. She had the ability to fix or repair things to perfection. Betty loved animals and kept a menagerie of wild animals fed daily in her backyard.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Abbie (Westmoreland) Watson; brothers, Charles Ray and Bobby Watson; son-in-law, Kenneth Peters; great-grandson, Copeland Peters; and her beloved husband of 64 years, Louis Landingham.

She is survived by her daughters, Louann Byrd and husband, Doug, and Jennifer Peters; grandson, Taylor Peters; granddaughters, Katharine Nunley and husband, Nick, Emily Salazar and husband, Patrick, Caroline Williams and fiancé, Karl Kranz, Meighann Walker and fiancé, Colton Burch; great-granddaughters, Claire Nunley, and Camryn Peters; great-grandsons, Campbell Nunley and Brooks Peters; and best friend, Russel Walker. Betty was also blessed by nieces, Pat Fisk DuPree, Sandi Fisk Comsia, Kim Collins Carter, Kathy Collins Johnson, and one nephew, Charles (Petie) Collins.

She had a special place in her heart for Paula Pack Henningsen whom she considered another daughter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Waco Humane Society.
