Ramon Martinez, 52, of Waco, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Deacon Jesse Garza. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Ramon was born February 2, 1958 in Waco to Jesus Martinez, Sr. and Anita Navejar Martinez. Ramon was a painter. He was a friend to everyone and will be missed by his family and many friends. Ramon was free spirited and enjoyed life. His family was blessed to have had him attend the recent family reunion.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; sisters, Rosa Martinez, Teresa Vela, Beatrice Barron and Theodora DeLuna and Guadeloupe Villarrial; and brother, Rudy Martinez.

Ramon is survived by his sisters, Eva DeLeon and husband, Frank, Margie Sanchez and husband, Ernest, Herlinda Morales and husband, George, Stella Montelongo and husband, Ernest and Becky Galindo and husband, Albert; brothers, Jesus Martinez, Jr and wife, Gloria and David Martinez and wife, Laura; his life long friend and companion, Cecila Shelley; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
