June was born February 13, 1939 in Teague, Texas to Arnold and Mattie Moncrief. She graduated from Teague High School in 1957. June and a young boy, Paul Layton became childhood friends. Their friendship grew into love and they were married December 23, 1961 in Teague. They began their married life stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, while Paul served in the US Army. She will be deeply missed by many who love her.
