Condolence: I am terribly sorry for the late notice of Dr. Samples' passing. I was Dr. Samples' teaching assistant when he first came to Baylor on August 2012. We spent nearly four years working together until I graduated in summer 2016. I have witnessed (and also been deeply influenced by) his incredible dedication to his work, his thoughtfulness to his students, and his positiveness and passion in life. Being his assistant was an unforgettably learning experience to me. From him, I learned how to pay attentions to details, how to work hard and harder, how to keep a young heart despite of age, and ... how to be a better person. It was my greatest honor to know such a respectful figure and role model. My most sincere condolence and sympathy. May him find peace.

Condolence: Katie,
My heart and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. In your dad's brief tenure at Baylor, he became a very respected and beloved professor. Your dad's life, well-lived, leaves you and your family with beautiful memories to treasure.

Blessings on you and your family.

Condolence: Dr. Samples was one of the nicest people I've ever known. He was genuine and kind to everyone. He made a huge impact during his all too short time at Baylor. My sympathies go out to those he left behind. May the Lord bless and comfort you in this time of loss.

Condolence: My sincerest sympathy goes out to you for your loss. I worked with Dr. Samples in the Providence Hosp. Lab for several years. He was an exceptional pathologist, never one to let a teaching opportunity to escape especially with us hematology techs. But more than that, he was an outstanding person, always kind and considerate. Daniel Samples will be truly missed in this world not just by the family and immediate friends and co-workers but for anyone who ever crossed his path in this life. May God bless all of you and help you through this terrible loss.

Condolence: Dr. Samples was my favorite professor at Baylor. His love for science and his students was contagious and the jokes he told in class made having an 8 AM bearable. He will be missed at Baylor and beyond.
