Obituary for Peggy Jo Devorsky

Peggy Jo  Devorsky
Peggy Jo Devorsky, passed away July 24, 2017. A Graveside service will be 9 AM Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, July 28, 2017 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Waco TX.

She was born June 6, 1930, and grew up in Waco. Blessed to be born to Carl R. and Daisy (Compton) Jayroe. She began her school years at North Waco Elementary, then North Junior High, and graduating from Waco High in 1948. She met her long time husband in 1946 and they married October 22, 1949, living happily for 68 years. Peggy was active in PTA all of her son’s school years, Earle-Napier Kinnard House of the Historic Waco Foundation, as well as bowling for many years. Peggy was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl R. and Daisy Jayroe, and husband, Daniel Devorsky.

She is survived by her son, Ron Devorsky and wife, Suzie of Crawford; grandson, Ryan Lewis Devorsky of Crawford; sister-in-law, Edna Devorsky of Bellmead; and many nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be given to Lake Shore United Methodist Church, 3311 Park Lake Dr. Waco, TX 76708.
