Obituary for Pete Diaz

Pete DeLeon Diaz 64, of Waco, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 11 am Monday, February 13, 2017, with Pastor Jaime Zuniga officiating, at OakCrest Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, February 12, with a prayer service at 7 pm., at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Mr. Diaz was born on January 12, 1953, in Bell County, to Cenobio and Leonor (DeLeon) Diaz. He graduated from high school and entered into the work force, doing well in each field he worked. He was a good son, husband, and family man.

Mr. Diaz was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew Guadalupe “Scooby” Diaz.

He is survived by wife Frances Quintanilla, step-children; and will be deeply missed by his special grandson Tiger; siblings, David Diaz and wife Mary, Frank Diaz and wife Ginger, Domingo Diaz, Josefina Garcia, Rosa Zuniga and husband Jaime, Jimmy Diaz and wife Martha, Steve Diaz and wife Emma, Mary Ann Sandoval, Manuel Diaz and wife Juana, Regina Calderon, Micky Camero and husband Elias, Eli Day and wife Janie and Tommy Diaz and wife Julia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Marcos Zuniga, Jaime Zuniga, Jr., David Diaz II, Paul Sandoval, Chris Zuniga, Mathias Arias, Moses Aries, Jr. and Joshua Arias.

The family expresses their appreciation to the staff of Providence Hospital and the staff of Providence Hospice for the excellent care given to Pete.
