Obituary for Anna Macy

Anna (Ann) Marie (Huffman) Macy entered into Eternal Rest November 25, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. She was surrounded by the love and presence of her children, grandchildren and those loved ones who have gone before her. Latin Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Reverend Daniel Lui as celebrant. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 7 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m.



Anna Marie was born to the late Martin and Catherine (Goggin) Huffman on May 28, 1924 in Johnstown, PA. She grew up and attended Catholic school in Johnstown, Pa., graduating from Bishop McCourt Catholic High School. She married the late Edward J. Macy, October 7, 1950 and spent 35 years together rasing 4 daughters and 3 sons. During World War II she volunteered as a Red Cross Nurse’s Aide as well as successfully completed the written portion of ground school for flight training in the Civilian Pilot Training Program created by the government. She later worked with the elderly for several years in Waco, TX. Her life reflected one of her favorite songs sung by Frank Sinatra, “My Way”. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, traveling, gardening, and assembling puzzles.



She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and her beloved husband. She is survived by her children; Catherine Fleming and husband David of Waco, TX., Edward Macy and wife Brenda of Waco, TX., Kevin Macy and wife Denise of Johnstown, PA., Siobhan Haskell and the late James of Denver, CO., Lorraine Lape and the late Donald of Waco, TX., Keith Macy and wife Lillian of Dallas, TX., and Maureen Ross and husband Steve of Prescott, AZ., 16 grandchildren; Jillian Garey, Sean Macy, Kristy Nelson, Lindsey Ramirez, Kimber Shoppa, Katie Wise, Joshua Lape, Heather Morris, Timothy Lape, Keith Macy (Jr.), Amanda Justice, Matthew Macy, Ian Ross, Megan Ross, Kellen Ross, and Holly Ross. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.



Pallbearers are; Keith Macy (Jr.), Matthew Macy, Joshua Lape, Andy Ramirez, Ian Ross, Joseph Lenz, and Ray Garey. Honorary Pallbearers are; Jay Morris, Nathan Justice, Preston Shoppa, Timothy Lape, Alex Wise, Milton Nelson, Kellen Ross, and Sean Macy.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, or the charity of your choice.
