Natalia (Nati ) Saldana Alonzo, 94, of Waco entered into internal peace, October 26, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 1 at 10 am St. Francis Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Celebrants will be Rev. Ricardo Mejia and Deacon Jessie Garza. Visitation l will be held Monday, October 31 from 6 to 8 pm, Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 pm at OakCrest funeral home.
Natalia was born February 17, 1922 in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico. She immigrated to the United States at two months old with her parents and older siblings. She grew up in Asa and Downsville, Texas. Natalia spent her youth working alongside her father, who was a sharecropper, and siblings. She was a devoted daughter and sister and spent her life dedicated to her family. She also worked for A. J. and Gladys McDonald for 20 plus years.
She was a lifetime member of St. Francis Catholic Church on the Brazos and an active member of Hijas de Maria, Guadalupanas and Third Order of St. Francis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, don Rodrigo Teran Alonzo and dona Margarita Saldana Alonzo, infant brother, Jose Alonzo, sisters, Dolores Alonzo, Antonia Montoya, Juanita Garcia, Gregoria Guerra and beloved nieces Christina Guerra and Mary Helen Flores.
She is survived by her sisters, Florentina Guerra and husband Simon, Candelaria Mansolo and husband Joe, Claudia Reust and husband Raymond and many nephews and nieces whom she loved like her own children.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Guerra, Edward Guerra, Joe Flores, Gabriel Garcia, Larry Garcia and Joseph Mansolo.
The family would like to give thanks and love to Heights Home Healthcare, Providence Hospice for all their care and especially to Miriam Melendez and Santos Aviles for their loving care and support they provided.
Memorials can be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.
