Obituary for Vivian Chase Thompson

Vivian Chase Thompson age 89, (‘aka’ Mama T.) of Waco passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016. She was born in Mart, Texas to the late Jim & Zona Chase on January 15, 1927. She married Joseph R. Thompson of Maryland in 1945 and moved to New Jersey, she later returned to Texas. She retired from the Waco Center for Youth in 1990.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, oldest son, Joe Alvin Thompson, four brothers and one granddaughter.

She leaves to cherish her memory four loving children who were by her side during her final hours. Three sons: James Kenneth Thompson (Anne), Wayne Allen Thompson (Sharon), Mickel Dwayne Thompson, and one daughter, Wanda Thompson Brooks. One brother, Welton Chase, Sr. of Pemberton, New Jersey, daughter in-law Dorothy Strickland Thompson and 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and faithful friends and adopted daughters from local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was a member of the Northcrest Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and faithfully served Jehovah for over 30 years.

A memorial service will be held in Port Norris, New Jersey on Saturday, October 1, 2016.
