Obituary for Albert J. Fisher



Albert J. Fisher of Waco, Texas passed away, September 3, 2016 at the age of 88. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Pastor J. E. Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the funeral home.
Mr. Fisher was born in Travis, Texas on May 29, 1928 to Anton J and Ida Mae (Ludwig) Fisher. He was the second oldest of 8 children and is survived by one brother, Tommy Fisher of San Mareo, California, son, Albert Wayne fisher and wife Frances; grandsons, Greg Fisher and wife Jana, Kevin Fisher and granddaughters, Kasey and Alexandra Fisher, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lawrence Fisher, Leon Fisher, Donald Fisher, Benny Fisher, and sisters, Annie Mae Butler and Lois Ann Martin.
Albert was raised in Travis, Texas and later moved to Waco, where he met Bernice Conaway, who later became his wife of 58 wonderful years.
He was an avid bowler and bowled in many of the Waco bowling leagues for years and also served as president of the Waco Bowling Association. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially when he could hunt with his son and grandsons.
Albert was employed by J. M. Woods Manufacturing and later Wolf Manufacturing for 43 years, until his retirement.
Mr. Fisher loved the Lord and was always willing to help those in need. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and Connally Free Will Baptist Church, serving as deacon of his church until he had to move to Corsicana to be closer to family due to his health.
He will be missed by all who knew him and those whose lives he touched.
