May 14, 1944 – October 24, 2015

Susan Therrell Easterwood, of Waco, passed away October 24, 2015, in Lubbock at the age of 71. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with Father Isidore Rozycki officiating.

Mrs. Easterwood was born May 14, 1944, in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of the late Tommy and Marie (Mullen) Therrell. As a child, she moved with the family to Waco, Texas where she attended Reicher Catholic High School and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church for twenty-eight years.

She was employed with Lake Air Animal Hospital while obtaining a Veterinary Assistant degree from Texas A&M University. From 1976 to 1983, she owned and operated Therrell Lock and Safe in Waco. She left Waco and moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia where she was employed as an administrative assistant/transcriptionist at Emory University Hospital. Later, she returned to Waco and was employed at Providence Hospital and Scott and White Hospital until her retirement in 1998. Upon her retirement, she moved to Lubbock where she became active with Christ the King Church.

Preceding her in death was a brother, Michael Therrell.

Survivors include two sons, Don Easterwood, Jr. and wife, Iona and Mark Easterwood; daughter, Kimberly Kay Easterwood-Sanchez and husband, Alfredo; sister, Laura Therrell Harrington; and two granddaughters, Leah Easterwood and Avary Sanchez.

For those desiring, the family has suggested Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia for memorial contributions.
