Obituary for Magdalen Long Werline (Paske)

Magdalen (Paske) Long Werline, 83, of Robinson, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1401 Washington Avenue, Waco, with Father Joe Geleney as officiant. A lunch will be served afterwards at the parish hall, followed by entombment at Capital Parks Mausoleum, 14501 N. IH-35, in Pflugerville. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m., at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.

Magdalen was born in Perry, as the youngest child of Phillip and Katherine (Woycheskin) Paske. She married Claude Long, who died March 5, 1987, and then married Billy M. Werline who died February 26, 2015. Magdalen graduated from Marlin High School, and attended Austin Community College. After attending Austin Community College, she was employed by First Austin Mortgage Co., Wm. Petra Co., and Catholic Credit Union before retiring in 1994.While living in Austin, she was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church there and sang in their choir. She traveled with the choir to Italy, Germany, and Austria where they sang in all the churches and gave a concert in Rome. After moving to Robinson, she was a member of St. Mary's where she was in the Women's Guild, Ladies of Charity, Rosary Group, and church choir. She was a 60-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, holding all officer positions and receiving many awards for her service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joe, Bruno, and Anton; and three sisters, Stella, Verna, and Jo.

Memorials may be made to the church, Waco Humane Society, or Fuzzy Friends.
