Obituary for Willie L. Utz

Willie L. "Buddy" Utz, 95, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 in a Temple hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the Chilton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Utz was born October 9, 1914 in Brownsboro, Texas to Alton and Cora (Lane) Utz. He married Annie Pearl Utz on June 10, 1937 and she preceded him in death on February 3, 1994. He then married Edna Wilhite on October 7, 2000 and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked as a roofing contractor in Phoenix, Az. for many years.

Mr. Utz is also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include, stepchildren and spouses, Thomas and Joyce Wilhite of Eddy, Tx. and Joyce and Don Durham of Corinth, Tx.; eight step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Braden Wilhite, Preston Wall, Ross Cavanaugh, Dylan Durham, Koby Wilhite and Kevin Wall. Honorary pallbearer, Billy Bates.
